The Department of Planning and Economic Development provides staff assistance to the Economic Development Agency, the Planning and Zoning Commission, the Aquifer Protection Agency and the Inland Wetlands and Watercourses Commission. It also serves the public, other Town Departments, and other public agencies by providing information and guidance on applications for land development activities, answering questions about zoning and wetlands, and managing internal records. The department also assists the commissions in updating as warranted the zoning, subdivision, aquifer protection, and inland wetland and watercourse regulations.

The Master Plan for Plainville's proposed multi use trial was completed on November 24, 2009.  It is available for viewing by clicking HERE.  The Master plan is a large file and may take a while to load so please be patient.
